The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race is an iconic holiday tradition. Every Boxing Day, a fleet of international and local yachts depart Sydney Harbour to contest one of the toughest blue water classics in the world. The gruelling 630nm passage takes yachts down the south-east coast of mainland Australia, across treacherous Bass Strait and finally up the Derwent River to the port city of Hobart.
Be part of the excitement and anticipation as they jostle for position on the start line. When the gun fires at 1:00pm you will be alongside the action and follow the fleet as they make their way for their way out of the Harbour, heading for Bass Strait and Hobart.
The race out Sydney heads is always hotly contested and you and your guests will have a ringside view of the action aboard a luxurious, private boat. The race start is a perfect way to showcase Sydney Harbour to visiting relatives and friends.
After the yachts have cleared the Harbour, your skipper will whisk you away to a quiet anchorage where you can swim, have lunch and experience the enjoyment of being on the Harbour in the middle of summer.
